How to Tackle The Beautiful Elsa Braid

* I received product samples to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

Step 1: Prepare For Hair Greatness: Wash with Super-Charge Detangling Shampoo to prep the hair and start with a smooth foundation (great for washing out temporary hair color too). Hair is actually easier to style with after it’s been brushed and is still slightly damp. Get the hair tie handy, and begin your style (for Elsa, follow these 8 easy steps and bravely braid away!).

Step 2: Make It Stay: Once styled, spray strands all over with Rosemary Repel Hair Spray. This all natural formula is lightweight and works to keep the bugs (like lice) away. Teach kids the importance of not swapping hats and crowns with other kids.

Step 3: Clean Up: Wash out any wacky colors and knots with Super-Charge Detangling Conditioner. Work it through the hair using a wide tooth comb to ensure strands are saturated with the gentle cleanser and let it sit for a few minutes before you rinse with cool water. Formulated with natural Keratin extracts to strengthen, smooth and detangle all hair types, wash and repeat as often as needed until hair is calm, frizz-free and moisturized.

We dealt with a lice outbreak last year and saying it was awful is an understatement. I mean it took hours and days of combing through hair to get rid of it. My youngest has the thickest hair and I definitely don't want a repeat of that. We are using Fairy Tales hair care as a preventive measure. My girls love the name and the scent. I love that it repeals lice naturally.

Here are some tips for preventing lice so you don't have to go through what we did.

Tips for Preventing Head Lice

  • Do a weekly head check. A quick check of the “hot spots” (behind the ears, back of the neck and at part lines) on a weekly basis can help prevent an outbreak.
  • Teach children NOT to share hats, combs, brushes, hair ties, pillows, sleeping bags, etc. Going to a princess party? Wipe down the tiara first. At sporting events, never share helmets or caps.
  • Keep long hair up in a ponytail or in a braid. Secure styles with styling aids. The extra coating will make it harder for lice to attach to the hair.
  • At school, daycare or camp make sure to store jackets, nap mats, backpacks and hats in separate cubbies or in a sealed bag.
  • Use lice prevention hair care products every day! Organic herbs such as rosemary, tea tree and citronella found in Rosemary Repel Hair Care® are proven safe, gentle and effective to help prevent head lice
