HiLo The Boy Who Crashed To Earth

*I received a product sample to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

- About the book: D.J. and his friend Gina are totally normal kids. But that was before a mysterious boy came crashing down from the sky! Hilo doesn’t know where he came from, or what he’s doing on Earth. (Or why going to school in only your underwear is a bad idea!)

But what if Hilo wasn’t the only thing to fall to our planet? Can the trio unlock the secrets of his past? Can Hilo survive a day at school? And are D.J. and Gina ready to save the world?

- About the author: Judd Winick is an award-winning cartoonist and has scripted bestselling characters including Batman, Green Lantern, and Green Arrow and characters for Justice League, and Star Wars. He was the head writer on the Hulu network’s animated series, The Awesomes. Judd also appeared as a cast member of MTV’s The Real World: San Francisco and is the author of the highly acclaimed graphic novel Pedro and Me, about his Real World roommate and friend, AIDS activist Pedro Zamora. My girls are really into graphic novels right now. They love to read but for those kids that have a harder time with it this book is perfect. It's a fun, easy read and makes a great gift!

Both my girls (ages 8 and 11) loved this story. This is what Natalie (11) had to say:

It was really good. I thought it was weird that a boy crashed to earth and didn't know anything. It was funny that the boy crashed wearing only shiny underwear and didn't want to wear clothes. This book made me laugh a lot. I can't wait to read the 2nd one!

You can purchase it on Amazon.
