LexaMae Fancies 'n Frills Review and Giveaway

Thank you for entering*
I was contacted by LexaMae Fancies 'n Frills and we decided that I would do a review on her Custom Order process. I sent her pictures of these 2 dresses that I had just purchased.:

She was making a custom over the top bow and a set of Pee-Wees bows ( which is her name for pigtail bows). So I told her that I wanted pigtails for the pink dress with the stripe accents and an over the top bow for the multi-colored dress. I made sure to tell her that I don't like overly big bows, I prefer them to be on the smaller side. She took the above photos and made these:

The Pee-Wees bows are the perfect size for pigtails. The easy thing to do would have been to go with mainly pink, but she really got some of the details from the dress and accented them - which I love! It's hard to tell with the pictures but the colors match perfectly. The bows are very well made and stay in the hair even through running around, jumping on a trampoline, and playing.

The over the top bow caught so many little details from the dress. She scaled down the typical size of the over the top bow and it ended up being just right. I don't typically like the marabou type accent, but this was done in just the right amount and gives so much character to the bow.  And the buttons on top of the marabou really made it super detailed and just gave it special appeal. My daughter is absolutely in love with this bow as am I.

I really think she has a natural talent in making amazing bows to match outfits. She has awesome customer service and really took what I wanted to heart when creating these bows. Her shipping was super fast even with such a custom order. If you purchase from LexaMae Fancies 'n Frills I really think you will be super satisfied.

 Our Philosophy
We encourage kids to form healthy habits that last a lifetime. By combining all natural skincare with fun and education, TruKid™ cultivates a relationship between healthy habits and being a kid. In turn, our goal is that kids will grow up taking care of themselves, each other and their environment. From our Friendly Face Wash™ to our Funny Foot Cream™, families receive only the best in ingredients, attention and dedication to their well being.

What makes us different?
Differences are what make everyone special and stand out from the crowd. TruKid™ believes in being proud of who you are. We are a different sort of company and of course, proud of it! For starters, our products are uniquely created just for kids of all ages (there simply weren't enough healthy skincare products out there just for kids). Second, we are all natural and completely chemical free. But what sets us apart even more than our products, is our philosophy. TruKid™ strives to impact the world one healthy habit at a time. Through rhymes, songs, facts and more, we provide the tools your family can use to start forming healthy habits the fun way.

Why use TruKid™
Well, besides the fact that we only use ingredients that are good for you, we spent a lot of time making our products just right! We encourage kids and their families alike to use our product line everyday. Everything from the lighter textures for quick and easy application to the great, cheerful scents that kids love; we made sure everything was kid approved. You have enough to worry about, let us help you teach your kids healthy skin care habits to last their lifetime.

I received a variety of products to try from TruKid™. I was really excited to try these products because both of my girls have skin issues. We use products that are supposed to be good for sensitive skin and yet they still cry that it burns and it hurts. I received Friendly Face Wash, Silly Shampoo, Cool Conditioner, Bubbly Body Wash, Happy Face and Body Lotion, Sunny Days Sunscreen tube and face & body stick.

My first impression of these products is that they are bright and cheery. They really draw in the kids attention and make them want to use these products. I smelled these as soon as I got them and was expecting a neutral, plain scent but was pleasantly surprised with a light fruity almost citrus-like scent.  These products also have fun pictures to let your child know what that product is used for. This is great for pre-readers as well as beginning readers.

We used the Friendly Face Wash as a hand soap as well as a face wash. It is very gentle yet effective. Some hand soaps (particularly commercial ones like those found in schools) leave a rash that looks much like a chemical burn on my older daughters hands and wrists, this soap has helped to clear that right up.

The Bubbly Body Wash has a stick figure on it that lets your children know that this is to be used on your body. This helped my kids because they tend to get shampoo/conditioners mixed up with body wash. This helped them to be more independent when washing up and they really liked that. This was very gentle on their sensitive skin and they did not fight to wash up.

My kids really liked the name of the Silly Shampoo, they also like the face icon with the crazy hair that let them know this was to be used on their hair. This product suds nicely and cleans well, it did not make their hair tangle. It has the same nice scent as the rest of the products.

The Cool Conditioner also has the face with the silly hair that my girls liked so much. This icon has brought on many giggles during bath time. This product left my girls hair soft and easy to comb.

I really liked all of the products that I received, but the Happy Face and Body Lotion is my favorite. I have tried so many lotions and they all burn my girls when they use them. When I would bring out the lotion bottle my oldest would literally be in tears. Now when I tell her we need to use lotion she always wants the lotion in the green bottle and she will happily use it. This product has made dealing with my girls sensitive skin so much easier.

My girls typically do not like to use sunscreen because of the smell. We all loved that these have the same fruity scent as the rest of the products. It also went on thick but smooth and a little went a long way. This product did not break the girls out or sting their skin. I love that the face and body stick fits right in my purse so I always have it with me, especially nice for those impromptu visits to the park!

Overall I really loved all of the products that I tried. I think their prices are very reasonable and some are sold in packs of 3 which makes them cost even less when bought like that. The only thing I would like to see is a pack of different products that would make them more cost effective, for example a shampoo, conditioner, and a lotion together. I do see this as a group of products I will purchase in the future and that my family will use on a regular basis.

GoGo Juice Review

Posted by Valerie's Reviews at 4:18 PM 0 comments

GoGo Juice...Naturally Juiced.

Our 100% pear juice is made from a variety of pear that no one else uses.  It tastes like apples with a cinnamon-y kick.  We are the only ones with this great-tasting and truly unique juice.

GoGo Juice is a pure, NOT from concentrate, certified organic pear juice that is just like what you would make at home with a juicer.  We take ripened fruit, peel the skins, remove seeds and cores, and juice them.  That's it!  We do not add any sugar, colorings, fake flavors, preservatives, press aids, filter aids, chemicals or other stuff.

GoGo's products are, and always will be, suitable for families on special diets such as Gluten Free/Casein Free, Specific Carbohydrate Diet, Feingold and many others.

We make a conscious effort to avoid conventional juicing issues.  For example, did you know that when you buy well known juices, you may be buying rice hulls, ground wood, and tiny fossilized critters that are used to help high volume pressing?  We don't do any of that!  We just squeeze our fruit.

We received a bottle of this juice to try. We have never tried pear juice before so I was excited to see what my girls would think.

GoGo Juice actually recommends watering down the juice about 50% this makes the juice healthier for you and makes the bottle lasts longer. My girls love this juice. They would ask for it by name.

I tried the juice both watered down and straight. I like it watered down but not as much as 50% - more like 25% for me. This juice tastes like a sweet apple juice, but it's not too sweet.

The only thing I would like to see is more variety in their products, but they are a new company and I'm sure variety will come. I would love to see a fruit punch type juice.

I also love the story behind the company and love that this is a mom made product. I definitely think this product is made with your children in mind and I can't say the same about the big companies.

Bravery in a Bottle

Posted by Valerie's Reviews at 1:06 AM 1 comments

Is your child/children afraid of the dark?  Do they think monsters are in the closet or under the bed?

Have no fear, keep Monster Vapor near.

Relaxing Blend of essential oils:
LAVENDER
LEMON
MANDARIN
ROSEWOOD
ORANGE

A story card is attached with the Monster Vapor mascot and a wonderful bed-time story to help ease fear of monsters.

My children actually are not afraid of the dark and generally go to bed very easily. Recently my 6 yr old has been having bad dreams and some of them have been about monsters. When she wakes up in the morning she tells me that the dream fairy gave her bad dreams and she's suppose to only give her good dreams.

Before bed one night I showed her the bottle of Monster Vapor. She loved the picture of the friendly looking monster. I told her that if you spray it under your pillow it keeps bad dreams away, especially ones with monsters in them.

The next morning she told me it worked, she said that the dream fairy brought her good dreams. Now she reminds me every night that she needs monster spray so that she will have good dreams. This spray is especially good for bedtime since it is an all natural product made from essential oils that promote relaxation.

The sprays come in 4 varieties: Monster Vapor, Storm Squasher, Courage Concoction and Feeling Campy.
They are packaged in a high quality, lined aluminum bottle and refills are available for purchase at a reduced price. There is also a plush monster that matches the friendly monster that is on the Monster Vapor bottle and an organic cotton mascot will be available soon.

I highly recommend you check out Bravery in a Bottle.

Gigi's Cakery

Note: This review will be of interest to you if you live in the San Antonio area.

I received a pink princess cake for my 2 daughters. The day it was ready my family was having a party for my Dad's birthday. My girls decided that PaPa need to have a pink princess cake so we took it to the party.

The cake itself was a homemade vanilla cake with a pineapple filling. The topping was made of fondant and the decorations were edible. The crowns on top of the cake were golden colored and sparkled.
You can really tell that she worked hard on the details of the cake with the little castles on the side and the crowns on top. Everyone at the party was commenting on how pretty and well decorated it was.

The cake was very good. I would not have chosen pineapple but it was moist and overall it was very yummy.
It went over very well and was liked by all.

Gigi's Cakery makes a variety of cakes. You can contact her via facebook if you are interested in information on having a cake made.

I had a really hard time deciding which bracelet to choose. I decided on this Amethyst Bracelet with Crystal Hearts since amethyst is my birthstone. I had an issue initially with the shipping but I contacted customer service and it was corrected right away!

This bracelet is so much prettier in person. It is lightweight but very durable and well made. I have worn it to work numerous times and it has held up very well. I am very pleased with this product and the customer service I received.

This site has a variety of charm bracelets as well as a numerous amount of individual charms you can purchase to make your charm bracelet unique to you. We are a modest women’s boutique specializing in basic, yet fashionable layering tees and vintage inspired modest clothing for women. Our modestly fitted cap-sleeve, long-sleeve, and v-neck tees have become known for their quality and durability, as have our essential camis. We truly hope that you love Impel as much as we do.

I came across Impel Clothing and was really impressed with their selection and prices. As a mom it can be hard to find modest clothing at a reasonable price and I really think that they offer both. Impel has so much to choose from, tees, sweaters, outerwear, jeans, dresses, skirts and even accessories.

I was sent a Cap Sleeve Layering Tee to try and review. This shirt is so comfy and easy to layer. I have worn and washed it multiple times and it still looks as new as the day I got it. They sell so many colors that it really will become a basic in your closet. And right now they have this very style tee on clearance for as low as $7 in some colors.

Bottom line is the customer service I received paired with the awesome shipping time and wide variety of products equals a fantastic company that I would do business with again and again!
